Mt Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth, stands between Nepal and China/Tibet (the summit peak is in Nepal, the Himalayan Mountain range spans between countries)

Everest is 8,848m tall, and growing at a rate of 4mm a year.

The mountain range of the Himalayas (which includes 10 peaks above 8000m and a further 50 peaks) is caused by the two plates, the Indo-Australian and Asian plates, pushing together in a convergent plate boundary.
